Raw Potential grew
up in Washington State and now lives in Los Angeles, California.
A student of Hip-Hop, Raw is a championship performance poet,
and has represented strongly at four of the biggest Hip-Hop
battles in the Bay Area.
He co-facilitated
the “Whites in Hip-Hop: Roles and Responsibilities”
Community Forum in Minneapolis, MN in 2002; and most recently,
Raw worked as producer for the rap groups E.B.T.B. and AR-15-
conducting anti-racist, Hip-Hop workshops and performances
at schools nationwide. He is featured, along with Jus Rhyme,
in the book, “Other People’s Property: A Shadow
History of Hip-Hop in White America” (Bloomsbury Press,
2007).
Raw has
also devoted two years to national service in Americorps*National
Civilian Community Corps, assisting various grassroots and
non-profit initiatives. He has a Marketing Certificate from
San Francisco State University, and has completed "An
Introduction to Grassroots Anti-Racist Organizing" with
the Challenging White Supremacy workshop and Californians
for Justice. His favorite emcee is KRS-One.
